My dog has allergies and is always biting himself. This is the most comfortable cone we’ve found for my dog to sleep, the only thing is that is very bendable so once it’s used for long it will be easy for them to reach on a wound.I got a hard plastic "cone of shame" from my vet after my pup had his knee surgery, but it was so awkward for my pup to use and he was banging into everything with the hard sides. This soft collar is so much better! It kept him from licking his wound. The only negative is that the "ears" on this collar got in the way of his vision so we ended up cutting them off, sadly.My dog is 15 pounds and I purchased the medium size and it was a good fit for him. Make sure and measure so you don't end up with the wrong size.I bought this because the hard cone was driving me insane. My dog would ram everyone with it and drag it against the wall. This definetly is less annoying. My only complain would have to be that the little ears dont actually stand up right. They just flop over his eyes and blind him. Which is at least good for a laugh for us.So happy with this purchase. It made it so easy for my pet to wear, comfortable, soft, easy to wipe clean. So much easier for them to walk around with. Vets should get rid of those big plastic cones.You will not be disappointed with this purchase.It's nice having a collar that is soft and doesn't knock things over as our dog runs into things. I think he really appreciates the comfort too. It also has lots of velcro to adjust it to different sizes and I know he can't get it off even if he tried. He looks a little less pathetic in this collar as he adjusts to life with less testosterone.My medium-size dog had large warts removed from his legs and feet. The hard plastic e-collar from the vet was a disaster; my dog managed to get himself and the collar wedged under my bed. A soft collar that I already had didn't last long; it simply fell apart. This one made it impossible for the dog to reach most of his incisions. The best part was that he seemed to like it. After his meals, I would call him to come put his "hat" back on, and he would come over and hold his head up. Very unusual for this very stubborn dog. (Four stars instead of five because the velcro sticks to everything. But that also makes it highly adjustable.)We got a size M for my 30lb beagle and it fit him well. He got used to it after a few hours and had to wear it for two weeks. My only complaint is that the ears wouldn’t stay upright after day 3 so I had to super glue them to the orange area to keep them out of his face. Over all I’m very happy I went with this e collar!The collar is soft and flexible as compared to the hard plastic ones from the vet. Picked this one as I hoped the depth would be long enough to keep him from reaching his feet. Max is an 85 pound yellow lab and pretty persistent at getting his way. It took him a day but he has figured how to curl up and get his hind foot in his mouth which defeats the purpose. I will give the collar credit in that it has slowed him down. One of the other selling points was the ability to thread his every day collar through loops to help in securing, well maybe if we used a shoestring for a collar. The loops are so small they are worthless. Gave it three stars as I believe it could work well for stopping him from getting to most of his body.
