The collar is exactly what I was looking for but it’s a bit big for my dog. She is a lab pit mix I’ve always ordered her size large but the prongs are a little too big for her size I actually wish I went a size down. On a side note it definitely does work like her last collar that we lost camping. It does seem like a great collar so far but I would recommend ordering a size down if your dog is a medium to large dog.Out of the box I would have given this a 5. after a little use it's a 4 because the black and white cover is flimsy and not very durable. It broke down quick but the collar itself is worth the money, I just with the cover held up.This collar is an excellent value for the money. The first one I had lasted over a year before the fastener clip broke. In fact that is my only complaint - the clip is plastic. It’s strong plastic but still plastic. I have the large version of this collar in my 79lb GSD and it is holding up great. Highly recommendGot this to help train my young dog not to pull when we go for walks. It fits well and the rubber tips on the collar spikes prevent him from getting hurt. It works well and he does not mind wearing it.My husband and I are older and have arthritis in our fingers. It was so difficult to put the regular prong collars on our 3 dogs. These collars are so easy with the quick release mechanism! Not only 5 stars, but 5 hearts, too!!most would say a collar like this isnt ethical to use on a dog. our puppy can get quite loud when new stimuli are introduced. trying to rein him in to stop him from bum rushing new people has been difficult. but this collar literally changed overnight. to me it seems like its not sturdy enough but it is. and its not hurtng my puppy when its not being tugged which is great. would definitely recommend this to anyone with a new dogThis collar will help your doggo from pulling. They will learn very quickly not to pull when on walks or being handled. It does work. Of course use your discretion as far as usage and timing but when used properly this can be a great tool for the owner and dog to better understand each other.The 2 D-ring you hook together with the caribiner are chafing off from hooking/unhooking 4 time daily, and now look rusted, but it's just the coating coming off /tarnished (it's obviously not stainless steel). Otherwise, the outer cover helps the hooks stay in place, and it helps me control my 95-lb Dane-Hound who gets overzealous when picking up certain scents.. Had bought another one on this site that fell apart; this cost twice as much but seems to hold up well. A little difficult to close the plastic clasp, but once in place it is then secure. I removed one of the links and that was doable with a pair of pliers.I purchased this and a herm Sprenger both. Based on the reviews of this product, I thought would try it also. The sprenger is significantly better and well worth the price. This one will never be used by me on my dogs. Even though this product has a cover it does not look good on the dog - sticks out too far on neck due to shape of prongs- unless your dog has a very long/thick coat it will look odd. Also the sprenger distributes the prong force on dogs neck very well (search YouTube why this is important) - this one does not and I will not use it on my dogs out of risk hurting them. It’s also extremely difficult to adjust for size and not good quality. I tried to do a return and didn’t get response from seller. My opinion - Pay more for a sprenger - it’s well worth the extra $. I try to only leave positive feedback on purchases but here the positive reviews I read was misleading for me.Wow! Always thought these collars were cruel. Do your research and watch videos. I have tried flat collar and two types of martingale collars and my Heeler was still pulling badly. Even on a slip lead he would choke himself.After some corrective turns and stops, he is paying more attention and I can finally loose leash walk.Awesome product, but learn how to properly fit and use.We have tried many different collars to stop my dog from pulling when walking on the leash. Nothing worked, not even same type different brand. Until we tried this one, it really works, very sturdy and durable. The links don't come undone during the walk like the other ones. The prongs are not harmful they are round on the tips, they just bother and the dog won't pull, he'll walk on your pace.Our big guy just wouldn't listen in certain... high stimulus situations so we gave this a go. It gets his attention and he's much better on walks! Don't really need to correct him as the collar just seems to make him more aware of my presence and what I'm asking him to do by voice command.Would recommend if you have a pup that just won't settle when you're out for a walk and you've already tried food motivation, clicker, harness... rubber guards prevent any scratches to your best 4 legged friendLarge and sturdy collar but isn’t as effective as a martingale style prong collar. Rubber covers do not stay on the prongs. Most have fallen off already. Fortunately the prongs themselves are well shaped and not sharp. Easy to put on and take off, which is a plus. It has inspired me to work harder on my leash work, so an inadvertent benefit.
