My dog has a high energy level and often does naughty things, but the handle on this collar aids in control. It's soft but wouldn't rub the fur off its neck, also other loose fur doesn't stick on it easily. It's been one month and it's still holding up really well.This is a nice collar but I did cut off the handle part because I didn't want his tags hanging in the back of his neck. It is a good width and nylon material. It fits him good and I will get a lot of use from this. He has a harness so that is what I use to walk him. I love the color of this by the way.Nice concept. Will not hold the adjustment. Stays locked but come loose and head slides right outGood quality material,well made ,easy to put on/off
